NEXT CENTRO STORICO: THE LOUVER SYSTEM FOR ALUMINIUM FIXED SLATS THAT COMBINES TRADITION AND INNOVATION

Hammer introduces Next Centro Storico, the universal louver system for aluminium fixed slats, designed to meet the needs of contemporary architectural renovation projects, with particular attention to work carried out in historic town centres.

With more than 50 years of experience in the design and manufacture of accessories for aluminium window and door systems, Hammer has developed a complete solution compatible with all shutter systems featuring 31, 35 and 36 mm chambers. The result is a system that combines traditional aesthetics, manufacturing efficiency and outstanding technical performance.

Traditional aesthetics, the advantages of aluminium

The name “Centro Storico” (“Historic Centre”) is inspired by classic wooden shutters. The distinctive rhomboid shape of the fixed slats faithfully recalls traditional wooden shutters, making the system the ideal solution for heritage buildings and properties subject to architectural restrictions, while providing all the durability, strength and weather resistance of aluminium.

The system consists of four components:

  • Pre-cut slats
  • 83 × 10 mm aluminium fixed slat
  • Compensating profile
  • EPDM gasket

Both the pre-cut slats and the fixed slats are supplied in 6500 mm lengths, optimised to maximise production efficiency and minimise material waste.

Superior build quality and maximum design flexibility

The Next Centro Storico louver system is supplied in a raw finish, ready for powder coating in the full RAL colour range, as well as wood-effect finishes, offering extensive customisation possibilities.

One of the system’s key distinguishing features is the complete absence of plastic components, such as saddles and end caps. This ensures perfect colour consistency across the entire shutter while delivering a cleaner, higher-quality aesthetic.

Professionals who chose Next Centro Storico

The system was recently selected for an architectural renovation project designed by architect Alberto Barbero, founder of MKP23 Studio in Canelli.

“The Next Centro Storico pre-cut system proved to be perfectly suited to the architectural context in which it was to be installed, integrating seamlessly with the existing architectural environment and achieving a balance between historical character and modern design,” says the architect, highlighting how the shape and colour of the fixed slats contributed to achieving exactly the intended design concept.

Gabriele Monteleone, partner at Monteleone Serramenti Snc, also confirms the quality of the system during the assembly phase.

Designed to preserve the past, built to last

With Next Centro Storico, Hammer offers a solution that combines respect for traditional aesthetics, technical innovation and ease of fabrication. It is a system designed to enhance existing architectural heritage while providing fabricators and designers with a reliable, versatile and high-quality solution.
